Literature Teacher in Shanghai
About this position
Location: No. 1, Jianguo West Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai, China.
About Us: We are not a training center. We are a library-centered school that helps children aged 6 to 15 fall in love with reading, writing, and critical thinking. Using stories as our core, we build thinkers, not just test-takers.
The Role:
- Curriculum: 11-level proprietary system. Maximum 8 students per class.
- Schedule: Two 14-week semesters (Wednesday to Sunday). Classes combine 2 hours of discussion and writing with 1 hour of guided library reading. Winter and summer terms include intensive workshops (Monday to Friday).
- Autonomy: Design your own short courses for holiday terms.
Responsibilities:
- Lead small groups using picture books and chapter books.
- Teach literary analysis through meaning, never dry drills.
- Coach reading habits.
- Collaborate with a global team.
- Enjoy work-from-home planning hours after your first semester.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree plus 2+ years of post-graduate work experience. Non-teaching experience is required for visa purposes.
- Native or advanced English.
- Teaching experience preferred.
- Must be willing to relocate to Shanghai.
Compensation: ¥22,500/month + performance bonus.
