Secondary History and ESL Teacher Roles

Asia Language and British Alma (ALBA International School) is seeking an enthusiastic secondary teacher to teach in Yangon, Myanmar, with a June start date.

Job Details

• Secondary History Teacher Position
• Years 7-9 History
• Work hours: 8:15am-3:45pm, Monday-Friday
• Contract date: 15th June 2026 - 15th March 2027
• Maximum of 25 contact hours per week

• Weekend ESL Teacher Positions
• ESL classes available for all ages (4yrs-18yrs)
• Work hours: 9:00am-5:30pm (Saturdays and Sundays)
• Part-time also available
• Contract date: 6th June 2026 (1 year)
• Maximum of 5-15 contact hours per weekend, hourly paid at $22/hr

Requirements

• Fluent in English
• A bachelor’s degree in any field of study (preferably Education)
• A TESOL, TEFL or CELTA certificate
• Two years’ teaching experience (those with less can still apply)
• Must be a passport holder of one of the following countries: UK, USA, Canada, S. Africa, Australia or New Zealand

Job Offer

• Salary of $1,700 - $1,900 USD/month (weekend position is hourly paid)
• Housing provided near the school campus (Central Yangon)
• Paid sick leave and paid national holidays
• Airport pick-up and assistance with getting to know the area upon arrival
• Business visas and work documents for all necessary government forms provided
