Online ESL Tutor for Korean Students

CNK English is looking for an online ESL tutor to teach Korean students.

As an online English teacher, you will lead the conversation, correct students, encourage them to speak more frequently, and help them enjoy a positive learning experience in your class.

Responsibilities

• Teach one-on-one online.
• Teach 25-minute or 50-minute classes.
• Correct students during class.
• Most classes will focus on conversational English.
• Clients are mostly adults, around 70%.
• Minimal preparation is needed for classes.
• Maintain a steady work schedule. We never over-hire.

• English as a native language.
• Fluent in English with a North American accent.
• U.S. or Canadian nationality.
• Completion of primary and middle school in Canada or America.

• Able to type quickly in class to correct students.

Additional Prerequisites

• A computer or laptop with a headset, webcam, and strong internet connection.
• A PayPal account with your full name.
• An MS Teams and a Zoom account.
• A quiet working environment.

FAQ

Do I need to speak Korean to teach English? No. Korean students want to study English in English, so the class can be conducted only in English.

Are there teaching materials that teachers can use? Yes, there are various web-based materials and PDF ebooks that are free to use.

How often do I get paid? We pay weekly via PayPal invoice. The system will automatically calculate the weekly payment.

What are the time slots that I can teach? Peak times are Monday to Friday 6~10 a.m. and Sunday to Thursday 5~9 p.m. (EST).

Do I need a bachelor’s degree to be a teacher for CNK English? No. Many teachers are university students. If you meet the requirements above, a degree is not required.

Pay

• Canadian Dollar: $16 CAD per 50-minute class ($8 CAD per 25-minute class)
• US Dollar: $12.6 USD per 50-minute class ($6.3 USD per 25-minute class)
