About this position
International Academy of Business and Technology (IABT), a private education institution in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is recruiting experienced native-English-speaking teachers for long-term positions starting in 2026.
This role is not a children’s camp or short-term holiday programme. We are specifically seeking all-round English teachers with strong grammatical knowledge who can confidently teach speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing across multiple proficiency levels.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver structured English lessons aligned to learning outcomes
- Teach across all four skills plus grammar and vocabulary
- Provide constructive, developmental feedback on speaking and writing
- Adapt lessons for mixed-ability classes
- Maintain basic academic records (lesson plans, attendance, assessments)
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum consistency
- Participate in ongoing professional development
Essential Requirements
- Native English speaker (passport holder: UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand)
- Bachelor’s degree (any discipline)
- CELTA / TESOL / TEFL (CELTA or equivalent strongly preferred)
- Proven ability to teach grammar confidently
- Experience teaching teens and/or adults
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Professional, reliable, and committed to a long-term role
Highly Regarded (but not essential)
- Degree in English, Linguistics, Education, or Applied Linguistics
- Experience teaching academic writing or exam preparation
- IELTS / Cambridge teaching or examining experience
- Curiosity about educational technology or AI-supported teaching
Important: This position is not suitable for teachers whose experience is limited to games-based teaching, conversation-only classes, or short-term children’s camps. Applicants must be comfortable teaching grammar, reading, and writing in addition to speaking and listening.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a brief teaching diagnostic and a live classroom-style task as part of the interview process.
