Volunteer English Teaching Assistant

Sueños Compartidos is recruiting volunteer English Teaching Assistants in Colombia. We have sent over 190 volunteers to Mexico and Colombia since 2009 and continue to grow.

Program Details

Semester program: teaching in exchange for housing and meals with a Colombian teacher — no work visa required.

• Time commitment: 2–4 months (dates flexible; semesters begin February and August)
• Position: English teaching assistant working with public school English teachers in classroom and conversational English classes

Locations

• Monteria (female only per host family arrangements)
• Popayan (male or female)

Qualifications

• 24+ years old with an undergraduate degree
• 1 year of teaching experience OR CELTA/Oxford Seminars TEFL certificate (for the semester program)

About Us

I started the program a while back, lived and traveled in Colombia for a couple of years, then set up a US-based NGO to connect volunteers with teachers in Colombia who would love to host participants and share cultural and educational experiences. As a volunteer, your reward comes from connecting with the Colombian people.
