Semester Volunteer English Teacher

Sueños Compartidos is seeking volunteer English teaching assistants in Colombia. We have sent over 190 volunteers to Mexico and Colombia since 2009 and continue to grow.

Program Details

The semester program places volunteer teachers with Colombian host teachers in exchange for housing and meals. No work visa is required.

• Time commitment: 2 to 4 months (dates flexible; semesters begin in February and August)
• Locations: Monteria (female only per host family arrangements) and Popayan (male or female)
• Role: English teaching assistant working with public school English teachers in-classroom and in conversational English classes

Qualifications

• 24+ years old with an undergraduate degree
• One year of teaching experience OR CELTA/Oxford Seminars TEFL certificate for the semester program

About Us

The program was started by Thomas, who lived and traveled in Colombia before establishing a website and a US-based NGO to connect volunteers with Colombian teachers who can host them and share cultural and educational experiences. As a volunteer, the reward comes from connecting with the Colombian people.
