Are you a native English speaker from USA or Canada looking to make a meaningful impact? Our English academy in Escuintla is seeking passionate, dynamic, and energetic volunteer teachers to join our community for a 6-month exchange program.
This is not a high-salary job. Instead, it is a unique opportunity to share your skills, inspire local students, and immerse yourself in Guatemalan life while having your living expenses covered and receiving a stipend for personal needs.
We want teachers who are eager to give back, connect with our community, and leave a positive mark on the lives of others.
What We Provide
- Furnished apartment with private bedroom (WiFi, kitchenette, TV and other comfortable amenities)
- Breakfast and lunch provided 6 days per week (no meals on Sundays; no dinner provided). Note: We cannot offer special diets.
- Monthly stipend to cover personal expenses (Equivalent to $325)
- A safe, supportive environment where your work has a direct impact
Schedule
- Thursdays and Fridays off to explore, rest, or travel
- Teaching schedule Saturday to Wednesday, up to 30 hours/week
- Classes for various age groups and levels
- Breaks during the day to relax or enjoy the town
What We Expect
- Native English speaker (USA or Canada only)
- Age 21+ preferred
- TEFL/TESOL certification preferred but not required
- Passion for teaching and working with students of different ages
- Energetic, adaptable, and culturally sensitive
- Willingness to live in a warm climate and embrace a slower-paced lifestyle
