Shadow Teacher Wave 3 Support

We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Shadow Teacher to provide essential one-on-one support for a student with Additional Educational Needs at Wave 3. In this role, you will be a vital pillar of our inclusive provision, working to bridge the gap between the curriculum and the student’s individual capabilities. Your primary goal is to improve the student’s academic, social, and behavioral performance. While you provide immediate support, your long-term focus is to foster independence, helping the student realize their full potential within the school community.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Head of Learning Support to execute Individualised Education Plans and adapt tasks to the student’s specific level.
• Provide one-on-one assistance to ensure the student understands subject matter and remains engaged.
• Guide the student in self-regulation, peer interaction, and appropriate communication - acting as a "translator" between the student, their peers, and teachers.
• Maintain communication with class teachers and parents to ensure a unified approach to the student’s development.

Requirements

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, positive, and proactive approach to behavioral management.
• Ability to adapt curriculum materials on the fly.
• Previous experience with AEN or Wave 3 support is highly preferred.
