About the Role:
Satit Bilingual School of Rangsit University (SBS) is seeking a native Mandarin-speaking, enthusiastic, and experienced Mandarin teacher to join our international secondary teaching team. The successful candidate will teach Cambridge IGCSE, AS, and A Level Mandarin and deliver lessons that are engaging, motivating, and supportive of students' development in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Mandarin. This role is ideal for a passionate language educator who enjoys inspiring students and promoting Chinese language and culture in a multicultural school environment.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Mandarin Chinese to secondary and higher secondary students in line with the Cambridge International Curriculum (IGCSE, AS & A Level) and Thai MoE requirements.
- Plan and deliver engaging, student-centred lessons that promote language acquisition, confidence, and exam readiness.
- Use creative and interactive teaching strategies to motivate students and foster a love for learning Mandarin.
- Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching resources, and assessments; maintain accurate academic records on the school’s administrative systems.
- Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback across all language skills.
- Differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including non-native and EAL students.
- Support students’ cultural understanding of Chinese language, traditions, and contemporary society.
- Prepare students effectively for external examinations through targeted practice and revision.
- Establish clear classroom expectations and maintain a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and academic development.
- Support or lead Mandarin-related extracurricular activities, such as language clubs, cultural events, competitions, or celebrations.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and whole-school events.
- Undertake additional professional responsibilities as assigned by the Principal.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mandarin / Chinese Language / Education / Linguistics or a related field.
- Recognised professional teaching qualification / licence / certification.
- Master’s degree is an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification teaching experience in a structured school environment.
- Proven experience teaching IGCSE, AS, and A Level Mandarin (or strong evidence of readiness to teach at this level).
- Experience with Cambridge International Education programmes is highly desirable.
- Experience working in an international school environment and with multicultural student groups is an advantage.
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
- Native Mandarin speaker.
- Fluent English speaker (minimum C1 level).
- Strong subject knowledge with the ability to explain language concepts clearly and effectively.
- Creative, energetic teaching style with excellent classroom presence.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Adaptable, patient, and committed to continuous professional development.
- A positive attitude and genuine passion for teaching and motivating students.
