Secondary Literature and ESL Teacher

Learn Satit Pattana School (LSP) in Bangkok, Thailand is seeking a passionate and experienced Secondary Literature and ESL Teacher to join its academic team. This is a full-time position for secondary level, Grades 7-12.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have strong subject knowledge in literature and English language instruction, along with the ability to engage and support students from diverse linguistic backgrounds. You will design and deliver dynamic, level-appropriate lessons that foster critical thinking, language development, and a love of reading and writing. The successful candidate will inspire students to reach their full potential, contribute actively to the school community, and collaborate with colleagues to support both academic achievement and student wellbeing. A commitment to professional growth and participation in school initiatives is essential.

Responsibilities

• Teach Literature and ESL up to 22 periods a week.
• Prepare level-appropriate lessons and materials for all scheduled classes.
• Assist with test writing, marking, and entering grades into the school MS.
• Nominate skills or interests that may enrich the school's menu of elective courses.
• Work with other teachers in the department to provide the best level of education in accordance with the professional standards expected by the school.
• Collaborate with the Head of Department, Academic Support, and counseling services to support students' academic and pastoral needs.
• Promote a positive school culture through collaboration with colleagues, participation in departmental and school-wide initiatives, meetings, and professional development.
• Contribute to curriculum development, cross-curricular projects, and leadership activities within the school.
• Maintain professional dialogue to share ideas and best practices in teaching and learning.
• Participate actively in extracurricular activities, demonstrating commitment to the whole-child approach.
• Support the effective and efficient operation of the school by undertaking additional duties as requested by school leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Literature, Education, Linguistics, CELTA, or equivalent.
• Proven experience teaching Literature and ESL at the secondary level (Grades 7-12).
• Strong understanding of language acquisition and differentiated instruction for ESL learners.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Experience with assessment design, grading, and tracking student progress.
• Enthusiastic about education, collaboration, and ongoing professional growth.
