Online English Coach for Adults

International Language Coaching Inc. is seeking highly qualified, professional, native or native-fluent English language coaches to join an elite Tokyo-based language school for online coaching of adult Japanese students.

Rate: Japanese yen - ¥1,000 per 25-minute private lesson and ¥2,000 per 50-minute group lesson.

Lesson availability: Monday to Saturday, 5:00 AM to 00:30 AM, Japan Standard Time.

Minimum coach availability requirement: 15 hours per week.

Payment: Transferred monthly before the 15th.

Online platforms: Company-provided free Zoom Pro account, Microsoft 365 account, and Platinum School scheduling system.

Curriculum: Company-provided free Pearson and other digital materials.

We use the term coach instead of teacher because our coaches do not drill grammar but use a holistic, goal-oriented approach to support students in reaching their English communication goals.

Ideal Candidate:

• Native English speakers from Canada, UK, New Zealand, India, South Africa, Australia, America, etc.
• Native-fluent English speakers.
• 6 months of online coaching experience preferred. However, applicants with transferable skills are welcome to apply.
• Home office/workspace with stable internet.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Accountable, responsible, and professional.
• Computer and noise-cancelling headset required. Phones and tablets are not acceptable.

• Resume that includes nationality, country of citizenship and country of residence, address, and a color photo of the applicant.
• Self-introduction video is preferred.
• Inform us which Japan Standard Time shifts you are interested in by starting the application with 'Early bird' for morning shifts or 'Night owl' for evening shifts.

We have a high demand for Monday to Friday evenings, as well as Saturday from 6:00 AM to 11:55 AM. Priority will be given to candidates who can commit to Monday to Friday evenings and Saturday AM.

We also offer classes during typical business hours; however, these are not the core working hours.

We do not interview applicants who are traveling or working as digital nomads, tourists, or in similar situations unless documentation that explicitly allows work is provided.

During the interview, an internet speed test will be conducted, so the applicant must attend the interview in the location where the lessons will be conducted. We do not conduct interviews if the applicant is traveling.
