Kindergarten & Elementary ESL Teacher

GLC Academy is hiring a part-time homeroom teacher for Kindergarten students and a few elementary classes in the afternoons. You will follow the premade curriculum while using creativity to make classes engaging and enjoyable.

Responsibilities

• Teach phonics, pronunciation, and basic reading and writing skills
• Sing, dance, roleplay, and create art with students
• Follow a textbook and syllabus for lesson preparation
• Add your own activities to enhance student learning
• Meet learning goals and track student improvement
• Attend required meetings, workshops, and special events
• Actively engage students and recognize the needs of individual students and the group

Qualifications

• Native English speaker
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
• Holds or is eligible for a visa; citizens of USA, CAN, UK, AUS, NZ, IRE, or SA
• F-visa holders welcome
• Apostilled diploma and criminal background check required
• TEFL certification (required)
• Must be physically and mentally healthy

Working Conditions

• Student type: Kindergarten and Elementary (Age 5 ~ Grade 6)
• Working days: Tuesday - Thursday
• Working hours: 10:30 A.M. - 6:00 P.M.
• Teaching hours: 20+ hours per week on average
• Break time: 1 hour per day plus preparation time
• Class time: 40 minutes per kindergarten class; 50 minutes per elementary class
• Class size: Maximum 10 students per class
• Lunch: Provided (teachers eat with students)
• Teacher training: Provided (1 week training prior to start date)
• Teaching staff: 5 native English teachers, 6 Korean teachers
• Employment type: Contract (12-month contract)

Salary

From ₩1,800,000 per month. 1.8 million KRW monthly (negotiable depending on experience).
