Elementary English Homeroom Teacher Seoul

Uchon Elementary School is a private elementary school located in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, close to Metro Line 4, Hansung University Station, and Sungshin Women’s University Station.

We are seeking experienced primary and upper elementary school homeroom teachers to join our team of professional educators. Our program values student learning and prioritizes authentic, hands-on learning and literacy in language education.

Position

• All grades Classroom English Teacher

Location

• Seongbuk-gu, Seoul

Term of Employment

• March 1, 2027 to February 28, 2028
• Orientation in late February

Salary

• Base pay of 2.4 million KRW per month
• Housing allowance of 700,000 KRW per month, beginning in March
• Tenure pay bonus: additional pay after completion of the second year for teachers continuing into their third year and beyond
• Annual evaluation incentive bonus: an additional monthly increase ranging from 50,000 KRW to 150,000 KRW, based on the previous year's performance evaluation
• Summer and winter camp pay: 900,000 KRW per camp session
• Teachers are required to teach at least one camp per year (Summer or Winter)

Work Hours

• 8:20 AM to 4:20 PM, Monday to Friday
• 24 teaching periods per week
• 40 minutes per period
• Class size: approximately 28 students maximum
• Holidays: 7 to 8 weeks of paid vacation
• Sick days: 5 paid sick days, with 600,000 KRW reimbursed if unused

Qualifications

• Presently working and living in Korea
• Three years or more of teaching experience in Korea; elementary school experience is preferred
• BS/BA degree, preferably in Education, English, or Linguistics
• 120-hour TEFL/TESOL or U.S.A./UK domestic teacher certification
• Paperwork scanned and ready to be submitted via email
• Willing to teach a demo class on-site with real students
• TBPE and TB health check results
• We are highly interested in applicants with teaching credentials
