Crane International School Myanmar is hiring an IGCSE English & Literature Teacher for Literature in Years 7, 8, and 9, as well as Cambridge IGCSE First Language English for Years 10 and 11.

Responsibilities

• Undertake the responsibilities of a Form Teacher for the allocated class.
• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons for Literature in Years 7, 8, and 9, as well as Cambridge IGCSE First Language English.
• Establish and maintain effective classroom management to foster positive habits and discipline among students.
• Implement structured learning plans that balance the pace, challenge, and interests of students.
• Use Cambridge resources and integrate appropriate technology to maximize student engagement, learning experiences, and instructional quality.
• Monitor students' progress, set measurable targets, and adjust lesson plans accordingly.
• Provide regular progress reports to the Principal, Head of Department, and parents as required.
• Build effective and respectful working relationships with colleagues, parents, and stakeholders.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development training as required.
• Adhere to school policies outlined in the staff handbook, including Child Safeguarding and Health and Safety procedures.
• Be willing to accompany students on field trips and school activities outside of the instructional day when required.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in English Literature is preferred. Alternatively, a relevant teaching qualification alongside a Bachelor’s degree will also be considered.
• Experience teaching First Language English and English Literature at the secondary school level.
• Strong understanding of the IGCSE exam structure, including past paper analysis, exam preparation strategies, and marking schemes.
• Native English speaker preferred; however, experienced teachers with near-native English proficiency are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Experience teaching IGCSE level and exam preparation.
