Full Time Public School English Teacher

We are accepting teachers from outside Vietnam as well as teachers already inside Vietnam. If you are outside Vietnam, we will assist with sponsorship to enter the country.

We are looking for dedicated and passionate teachers to join our native speaker teaching team and continue our successful and exciting public school partnership program. Our partnership program has been running for ten years, and we are currently recruiting teachers for the 2026 - 2027 school year (August 2026 to May 2027).

Teachers will be assigned to different public school partnership programs in Ha Noi and Hung Yen city. Students are 6 to 17 years old and include primary students (grades 1 to 5), middle school students (grades 6 to 9), and high school students (grades 10 to 12). Teachers are placed at one of the three school levels depending on qualifications and preferences.

Although class sizes vary from 35 to 45 students, there is always a teacher assistant, who in most cases is the English teacher from the partner schools.

General working hours are Monday to Saturday mornings only, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:55 a.m., or Monday to Friday mornings and afternoons. Teachers are not required to remain at school unless there are classes.

Teaching materials and the syllabus are provided. Teachers also have access to supplementary textbooks, which minimize planning to only 4-6 lesson plans per week while teaching 20-25 classes. Our teaching schedule is very consistent. Once our teachers are placed in a school, they are welcomed as part of the school and teach students there for the entire school year.

Requirements

• Native speakers from the UK, Ireland, Australia, South Africa, and the United States
• Non-native speakers must be C1 or C2
• College degree (3 years and up)
• Minimum TEFL 120
• 1 year of teaching experience preferred
• A clean police clearance check
• High in-class energy
• Enthusiastic about teaching ESL
• A professional attitude and appearance
• Able to teach in public schools and possible center classes
• Able to use PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.
• Able to produce a neutral accent during lessons

Details of Position

• 480,000 to 550,000 VND per hour based on experience and qualifications
• Completion bonus
• Guaranteed minimum of 60 teaching hours per month
• Average teaching load of 75 to 85 hours per month
• Expected salary ranges from 1,600 USD to 2,000 USD per month after tax
• Consistent Monday to Friday schedule or Monday to Saturday mornings schedule
• No deductions are taken from the monthly salary

Other Details

Position start dates are from August 2026 to May 2027. Washington English Center is a moderately sized language center located in Hanoi, celebrating its eleventh year of operation. Our English center is part of the Education and Training Consultation Group (ETC), which has been providing education services to Vietnamese students for the past 26 years.
