EYFS Preschool Teacher

Role Purpose

Create a warm, safe, and highly engaging preschool environment that follows the EYFS, nurtures life skills and independence, and builds 21st-century capacities such as communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

• Plan and deliver play-based, age-appropriate provision aligned with EYFS principles.
• Integrate early phonics, early mathematical thinking, projects, and life skills using KKIS resources: Jolly Phonics and White Rose Maths.
• Build the 4Cs through hands-on inquiry, problem-solving, and collaborative tasks.
• Use indoor and outdoor learning to develop curiosity, teamwork, and connection to nature and the community.
• Provide clear daily routines and positive behavior expectations suitable for Nursery.

Personal Development, Behaviour & Welfare

• Systematically teach self-care, including toileting, handwashing, dressing, and tidying, as well as table manners and safe choices.
• Promote friendship skills, turn-taking, and emotional literacy, including naming feelings and simple self-regulation.
• Encourage healthy habits such as snacks, water, and toothbrushing, and promote environmental awareness through simple class jobs.

Assessment & Home-School Communication

• Observe and document learning across the EYFS 7 Areas of Child Learning and Development.
• Maintain up-to-date learning journals, portfolios, and developmental milestone records.
• Share progress through regular updates, meetings, and reports, and set simple next steps with parents.
• Use Google Drive, Google Classroom, or school platforms to store documentation and share appropriate learning media.
