ESL & IELTS Teacher — Tashkent

STARS Academy is seeking native English teachers for General English and IELTS/TOEFL preparation in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. We welcome retirees with teaching experience in different cultures. We need teachers to start by the end of February–beginning of March, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Teach ESL at all levels, Conversational English, and IELTS preparation
• Conduct individual lessons, group classes (22–25 students), and corporate classes at customers' offices
• Focus exclusively on teaching; no administrative duties are required
• Prepare lessons in advance and return graded work on time

Qualifications

• B.A. in English or Education, or at least 5 years of active classroom teaching experience with children and adults
• One teaching certificate (TESL, TESOL, CELTA, etc.) confirming teaching experience or equivalent
• Communicative, friendly, hardworking, and able to work with students of different ages
• Team player who will maintain the school’s reputation and provide quality education
• Must be professional and well organized in the workplace
• Teachers must bring their own laptops
• Total teaching load: 30–32 hours per week; working week is Monday–Friday (5 days)

• 12-month contract with possibility of extension
• Salary is discussed during the interview. We pay only in the national currency of the Republic of Uzbekistan; the salary is intended to provide a comfortable life in Uzbekistan
• We pay on time. Money transfer to a home-country bank account and currency exchange are not the employer's responsibility
• Private 1-bedroom accommodation in the Civic Center, fully furnished with basic utilities (not shared)
• All utilities (electricity, gas, hot and cold water, taxes) covered by the employer
• Internet expenses covered by the employer
• Paid 10-day summer vacation, paid 5-day winter vacation, 5 paid national holidays, and an additional 10 days of summer vacation after a full successful year
• Transportation to/from the airport
• All visa expenses covered (entrance visa and working visa prolongation)
• Labor certificate paid by the school
• Airfare to Tashkent reimbursed only after 10 months of the contract period
