ESL and IELTS Teachers in Uzbekistan

Dear teachers,

STARS Academy is looking for native English teachers for General English and IELTS/TOEFL preparation. We also welcome retirees who have experience teaching in different cultures. We will need teachers by the middle to end of September 2026.

Job Description

Candidates should be communicative, friendly, and hard-working, and able to work with students of different ages. We also expect applicants to be team players. We want candidates who will protect the school’s reputation by providing students with quality education. This position does not involve administrative responsibilities, only teaching.

Requirements

• B.A. in English or Education, or at least 5 years of active, actual classroom teaching experience with children and adults
• One teaching certificate (TESL, TESOL, CELTA, etc.), confirming teaching experience, or equivalent
• Ability to prepare for classes in advance
• Ability to grade and return students’ papers on time
• Professional, well-organized, and respectful behavior in the workplace
• 30-32 teaching hours per week
• Availability to work Monday to Friday (5 working days)
• Willingness to teach individual classes, group classes (22-25 students per group), and corporate classes at the customer’s office
• Experience teaching ESL classes at all levels, conversational English, and IELTS groups
• Own laptop

Contract

We offer a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension.

Benefits

• Salary starts at 5,500,000 Uzbek sums per month net for the first 3 months
• Salary increases to 5,800,000 Uzbek sums per month net in months 4-7
• Salary increases to 6,000,000 Uzbek sums per month net in months 8-12
• Payment is made only in the national currency of the Republic of Uzbekistan
• We always pay on time
• Money transfer to the teacher’s home-country bank account and currency exchange are not our responsibility
• Accommodation in a 1-bedroom apartment in the Civic Center, not shared, fully furnished, and with basic utilities
• All utilities are paid for by the employer
• Internet expenses are covered by the employer
• 10-day paid summer vacation, 5-day paid winter vacation, and 5 paid national holidays
• Transportation to and from the airport
• All visa expenses are covered, including the entry visa and work visa extension
• Labor certificate is paid for by the school
• Airfare to Tashkent is reimbursed only after 10 months of the contract period

This is not an administrative position. You are only required to teach.
