ESL and IELTS Teachers in Uzbekistan

STARS Academy in Tashkent, Uzbekistan is looking for native English teachers for General English and IELTS/TOEFL preparation.

We also welcome retirees with experience teaching in different cultures.

We will need teachers by the middle to end of September 2026.

Job Description

Candidates should be communicative, friendly, hard-working, and able to work with students of different ages. We also expect teachers applying for this position to be team players. We need candidates who will take care of the school’s reputation by providing students with quality education. This position does not require administrative responsibilities; it is teaching only.

The applicants must have the following papers and experience:

• B.A. in English or Education, or at least 5 years of active classroom teaching experience with children and adults;
• One teaching certificate (TESL, TESOL, CELTA, etc.), confirming teaching experience, or equivalent;
• Must always be prepared for classes in advance;
• Must grade and return students’ papers on time;
• Must behave in a professional manner and be well organized at work. We do not welcome disrespectful or unprofessional individuals;
• The total number of teaching hours is 30-32 per week. Please note that our working week is Monday to Friday (5 working days).
• Classes will run individually, in groups of 22-25 students, or with corporate customers at the customer’s office.
• Teachers will have ESL (all levels), Conversational English, and IELTS groups.
• Teachers should have their own laptops.

We offer a 12-month contract with the possibility of prolongation.

Benefits

• Salary starts from 5,500,000 Uzbek sums per month net during the first 3 months. If the work is appropriate, the salary will increase to 5,800,000 Uzbek sums per month net during months 4-7, then to 6,000,000 Uzbek sums per month net during months 8-12. We pay only in the national currency of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
• We always pay on time. Money transfer to the teacher’s home-country bank account is not our responsibility, and neither is currency exchange;
• Accommodation in the Civic Center: a 1-bedroom apartment that will not be shared. It will be fully furnished with all basic utilities, and it will be within a 15-20-minute walking distance from the school;
• All utilities (electricity, gas, hot and cold water, taxes) are paid by the employer;
• Internet expenses are covered by the employer;
• A 10-day summer vacation (paid), a 5-day winter vacation (paid), and 5 national holidays (paid). The summer vacation period is provided after a full-year successful contract;
• Transportation to and from the airport;
• All visa expenses will be covered, including the entrance visa and working visa prolongation;
• The labor certificate is paid for by the school;
• We will reimburse the airfare to Tashkent only after 10 months of the contract period.

This is not an administrative position. You are only required to teach.
