English Language Coach Online

International Language Coaching Inc. is seeking highly qualified, professional native or native-fluent English language coaches to join the team of an elite Tokyo-based language school for online coaching of adult Japanese learners.

Salary/Rate

• ¥1,000 per 25-minute private lesson
• ¥2,000 per 50-minute group lesson

Schedule & Availability

• Lesson availability: Monday to Saturday, 5:00 AM to 00:30 AM Japan Standard Time
• Minimum coach availability requirement: 15 hours per week
• We have strong demand for Monday to Friday mornings, and all day Saturday. Priority is given to candidates who can commit to Monday to Friday mornings and at least half of Saturday.

Payment & Platforms

• Payment: Transferred monthly prior to the 15th
• Online platforms: Company-provided Zoom Pro account, Microsoft 365 account and Platinum School scheduling system
• Curriculum: Company-provided Pearson and other digital material

We use the term coach rather than teacher because our coaches apply a holistic, goal-oriented method to help students achieve their English communication objectives.

Ideal Candidate

• Native English speakers from countries such as Canada, UK, New Zealand, India, South Africa, Australia, America, etc.
• Native-fluent English speakers
• 6 months online coaching experience preferred; applicants with transferable skills are welcome
• Home office/workspace with reliable internet
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Accountable, responsible and professional
• Equipment required: computer and noise-cancelling headset (phones and tablets are not acceptable)

We do not interview applicants who are travelling/working (digital nomad/tourist/etc.) unless documentation that explicitly allows work is provided.
