ECC English Teachers in Japan

Since 1962, ECC has been at the leading edge of language education in Japan and has grown to over 140 schools throughout the country. We strive to promote a spirit of multiculturalism, represented by a team of 15 different nationalities and over 400 native English-speaking teachers.

ECC Contract and Working Conditions

For individuals seeking overseas employment, finding a reliable employer is paramount. ECC offers one of the most progressive contract packages among English conversation schools in Japan. We are known as a supportive and reliable employer, and many of our teachers have joined us from other schools.

While many schools require a 40-hour workweek for a similar salary, we offer a 35-hour workweek, two to four weeks more vacation, and comprehensive training. We are sure that, like our current teaching team, you will find your time with ECC satisfying and rewarding.

Recruitment Sessions

Canada - Toronto: Recruitment sessions are being held each month for positions starting early 2027 and beyond (various start dates throughout 2027). Sessions include a comprehensive overview of ECC, teaching role play, an English proficiency test, and an interview.

• Vancouver - November 5, 6 (additional sessions in Canada)

Australia: In October, ECC will hold in-person recruitment sessions in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney for positions starting in Japan early 2027 and beyond. Sessions will include a comprehensive overview of ECC, teaching role play, an English proficiency test, and an interview.

The UK: In September, ECC will hold in-person recruitment sessions in Manchester and London for positions starting in Japan early 2027 and beyond. Sessions will include a comprehensive overview of ECC, teaching role play, an English proficiency test, and an interview.

• London - September 8, 9, 11, 12

USA: ECC will hold in-person recruitment sessions in select cities in late October/early November for positions starting in Japan early 2027 and beyond. Sessions will include a comprehensive overview of ECC, teaching role play, an English proficiency test, and an interview.
