Early Years Lead Class Teacher
About this position
Kidz Village International Kindergarten is seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Class Teacher to join our early years team. We cater to children aged 12 months to 6 years, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, enriched through The Project Approach to support inquiry-based and child-centred learning.
Position Overview
The Lead Class Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering a high-quality early years program that supports each child's development in a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. The role includes leading the classroom, working collaboratively with teaching assistants, and building strong relationships with families.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons in line with the EYFS framework
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Observe, assess, and document children's learning and development
- Lead and support classroom assistants/teachers effectively
- Foster strong communication and partnerships with parents
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and emotional care of all students
- Contribute to school events, activities, and the wider school community
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (PGCE or equivalent preferred)
- Background in Early Years Education (study and/or relevant work experience)
- Excellent command of spoken and written English (native or near-native proficiency preferred)
- Sound knowledge of child development and early learning practices
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- A caring, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to teaching young children
