Teachers and Librarian at NIVA Bangkok

Three Positions: Music & Art Teacher, Temporary Kindergarten Teacher, and Librarian

Starting Date: Immediate Opening

NIVA American International School is a WASC-accredited American international school in Bangkok serving students from Nursery through Grade 12. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following positions.

Position 1: Music & Art Teacher (Elementary and Secondary School)

This combined position requires strength in both music and visual arts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as staff accompanist for performances, ceremonies, and events
• Lead and develop the school's choir program
• Teach guitar as part of the music curriculum; violin experience is an advantage
• Teach drawing, painting, and mixed-media art across Elementary and Secondary School levels
• Support student exhibitions, displays, and arts-related events

Qualifications

• Strong piano proficiency, including accompaniment for rehearsals and performances
• Experience directing or supporting a choir program
• Ability to teach guitar
• Demonstrated visual arts ability
• Bachelor's degree in Music Education, Fine Arts, Arts Education, or a related field
• Artistic portfolio encouraged

Position 2: Temporary Kindergarten Teacher

Duration: Approximately two months (August - September 2026)

We are seeking a qualified Kindergarten teacher to take responsibility for a classroom during a temporary leave period.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• Early Childhood or Kindergarten teaching experience preferred
• Ability to create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment

Position 3: Librarian (Elementary and Secondary School)

Responsibilities

• Support information literacy and student research skills
• Promote reading through clubs, activities, and school-wide initiatives
• Manage library circulation, cataloging, acquisitions, and inventory
• Coordinate the distribution and tracking of student textbooks
• Collaborate with teachers to support classroom instruction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Education, English, or a related field
• Knowledge of library organization and collection management
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• School library experience preferred

General Requirements

• American English proficiency required
• Minimum two years of relevant professional experience preferred
• Familiarity with Common Core State Standards (CCSS)
• Eligible and willing to obtain a Thai Teaching License

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: 40,000+ THB per month, commensurate with qualifications and experience
• Approximately six weeks of paid holiday per year

Mandatory Screening

• Three professional references required, including a current or most recent Principal or Head of School
• Teaching demonstration, audition, and/or portfolio review may be required
• Rigorous safeguarding, background, and reference checks are conducted for all successful candidates
