The Activity Manager is required to complete preparatory tasks and engage in remote work before the official camp start date. All terms are open to negotiation.
The Activity Manager supports YES USA programs by delivering a high-quality activity and excursion program. This role oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of off-site trips and on-campus activities, while supervising a team of activity staff and ensuring an excellent student experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, and manage excursions and on-campus activities, adapting programs based on logistics, staff strengths, weather, and feedback
- Supervise and support activity staff to ensure smooth execution and high student satisfaction
- Coordinate bookings, itineraries, transportation, and meal arrangements
- Collect feedback and continuously improve program quality
- Organize off-campus meals and on-campus catering, including vendor coordination and problem-solving
- Lead staff training, meetings, and performance evaluations in collaboration with the Center Director
- Foster a positive, professional team environment and maintain staff accountability
- Ensure student safety, supervision, and well-being at all times
- Maintain strong communication with students, chaperones, and staff, addressing concerns promptly
- Support overall program quality and customer satisfaction
- Handle administrative tasks such as budgeting, record-keeping, and resource management
- Assist with residential duties, including student arrivals and departures, orientations, and evening supervision
- Provide on-call support for emergencies and assist the Center Director as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree minimum
- Familiarity with the camp location
- Experience managing program logistics
- Previous experience with summer camp management is a plus
- Native fluency in English
- Legal authorization to work in the United States

Hours:
This role requires a high level of flexibility and availability throughout the camp to respond to the dynamic demands of our program. Hours may be varied and intensive, reflecting the needs of the camp schedule. While one day off per week is offered, it will be coordinated with the Center Director based on the excursions and activities calendar, ensuring availability on busier days.
Weekly commitment: 60 hours.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Housing in a single room in a shared university dorm is provided during the camp.
New York (Hoboken & Queens): $1,330 - $1,530 per week (housing provided)
Miami: $1,150 - $1,300 per week (housing provided)
Irvine: $1,220 - $1,400 per week (housing provided)
