Role Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team. The SENCO will play a vital role in supporting students with additional learning needs by providing individualized instruction, developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and fostering close communication with staff and families to ensure students are fully supported in their academic and emotional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small group support for students with a range of learning differences and additional needs
• Develop and maintain Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths and challenges
• Monitor student progress and adjust plans and strategies as needed
• Collaborate with homeroom teachers to support differentiated instruction and classroom accommodations
• Maintain open, ongoing communication with parents, the Head of School, and relevant stakeholders
• Participate in student support meetings and contribute to a school-wide culture of inclusion and empathy
• Stay up to date with current SEN best practices and approaches

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field
• SEN specialization or certification
• Minimum 2 years of experience working with students with additional needs in an educational setting
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Deep commitment to inclusive education and student well-being
