Secondary Science Teacher

PBISS International School, Koh Samui

We are looking for well-qualified teachers to teach Science from lower secondary (Year 7) up to IGCSE and potentially A level at our Koh Samui campus. This is a unique opportunity to develop your skills on one of Thailand's most iconic islands while contributing to a result-driven pedagogic approach. A specialist in Physics would be desired.

Responsibilities

• Teach across the age and ability range, challenging the most able and supporting those who find the subject challenging.
• Contribute widely to the school through enrichment activities, curriculum development, impactful teaching methods, interventions, administering internal examinations, or outreach activities.
• Follow the school’s assessment and reporting policies, teacher’s manual, and attend parents’ meetings as required.
• Contribute to the co-curricular life of the school as agreed with the leadership team.
• Be committed to the safeguarding of all young people and support student welfare and pastoral care.
• Tutor groups of pupils, taking an interest in their well-being and academic progress.
• Assist with educational development initiatives and other duties as assigned for the benefit of the organisation.

Qualifications / Requirements

• An Education Degree or a degree with a recognized teaching qualification is required.
• Passion for the subject with the subject knowledge required to deliver engaging lessons across age and ability ranges; a Physics specialist is desirable.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and to working within the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and collaborate with a wide range of people.
• Good ICT competence and willingness to use various technologies for teaching and learning.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, high motivation, ability to work independently and in teams, and a positive attitude to change and development.
• Respect for confidentiality regarding intellectual property, privacy, and the work of school stakeholders.
