Salary: Salary depending on SBS salary scale, qualifications, and experience.
About the Role: SBS is seeking a dynamic, experienced, professionally certified teacher to join our international teaching team. The ideal candidate will be suitably qualified and experienced, and fully committed to supporting the development of students through curricular and extracurricular activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach IGCSE and AS/A-Level Chemistry to students according to the requirements of the Cambridge Curriculum.
- Prepare curriculum, lesson plans, and teaching materials for class instruction and activities, and manage information on the school’s administrative system.
- Adapt teaching methods, learning strategies, and instructional materials to meet the varying needs and interests of students.
- Conduct assessments of student attainment, monitor student academic progress, and provide relevant feedback.
- Establish classroom expectations and observe and evaluate student performance, behaviour, social development, and health.
- Conferring with teachers, parents, or guardians to discuss student progress and address behavioural or academic concerns.
- Tailor teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs and support students requiring extra assistance.
- Work closely with colleagues, parents, and guardians to discuss student progress and any academic or behavioural challenges.
- Attend meetings, participate in professional development, and support extracurricular activities as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Science, or a related field.
- Valid teaching licence or certification.
- Experience teaching Chemistry or General Science to lower and upper secondary students following the Cambridge International Education Program (Checkpoint / IGCSE / AS/A Levels) and Thai MoE.
- Experience working with EAL learners and conducting laboratory experiments.
