About this position

The French International School of Bangkok (Lycée Français International de Bangkok) is currently looking for an experienced Secondary English Teacher to join our team on a temporary full-time basis. This position is a fixed-term replacement contract with an estimated duration of 1 to 3 months and is located in Bangkok, Thailand. The role involves 18 teaching hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach English as the first foreign language to middle and high school students, in line with the French Ministry of Education curriculum.
  • Enhance students' language skills in listening, reading, speaking, writing, and interaction.
  • Create engaging and well-structured learning sequences to promote student autonomy, participation, and progress.
  • Incorporate digital tools effectively in the teaching process.
  • Regularly assess students following French secondary school assessment guidelines.
  • Prepare students for continuous assessments and national exams such as the Diplôme National du Brevet (DNB) and the French Baccalauréat.

Contribution to Educational Projects

  • Actively engage in interdisciplinary and cross-curricular projects with teaching teams.
  • Participate in English language and international cultural events, including theatre projects, debates, competitions, and Model United Nations (MUN).
  • Contribute to the broader educational life and projects of the school.

Student Monitoring and Support

  • Monitor and support students' academic progress.
  • Attend class councils, departmental, and pedagogical meetings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and educational team members.
  • Communicate regularly and constructively with families about students' progress when necessary.

Candidate Requirements

  • A Master's degree or equivalent (Bac+5) in English, English Studies, Foreign Languages, Language Education, Applied Linguistics, or a related field.
  • A recognized French teaching qualification such as the CAPES or CAFEP in English is advantageous.
  • Minimum of five years of relevant secondary school teaching experience.
  • Experience within the French education system or an AEFE/French international school environment is highly desirable.

  • Understanding of assessment requirements and practices in French secondary education.
