Founded in 1885, Assumption College is one of Thailand’s oldest and most prestigious all-boys schools, located in the heart of Bangkok. We are currently seeking dedicated and qualified English teachers to join our Secondary Section. We have an immediate vacancy in our Intensive English Global Program (IEGP) and are also recruiting an English Native Speaker (ENS) Teacher for Semester 2 of Academic Year 2026, beginning in October 2026.

1. Intensive English Global Program (IEGP) Teacher

  • Secondary Grades: 7–9 (M1–M3)
  • Start Date: Immediate / Negotiable

About the IEGP: The Intensive English Global Program (IEGP) is designed to develop students into confident global citizens through an enhanced English-language curriculum and an international learning environment. The program includes:

  • Five (5) hours of English instruction per week
  • Small-group English classes with a maximum of 16 students
  • Development of Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing skills
  • Project-Based Learning (PBL) to promote active learning and student engagement
  • Direct interaction with foreign teachers
  • Cambridge English curriculum and textbooks
  • CEFR-aligned English-language assessment with a target proficiency level of B2
  • Preparation for Cambridge English Qualifications, including KET, PET, and FCE
  • International Mathematics and Science courses utilizing textbooks from Star Publishing Singapore

The successful candidate will join an established program and should be comfortable working with lower-secondary students in a structured, English-focused learning environment.

2. English Native Speaker (ENS) Teacher

  • Secondary Grades: 7–12 (M1–M6 | KS3–KS4)
  • Start Date: 26 October 2026 — Start of Semester 2 / Negotiable
  • Salary: 50,000 Baht/month before tax

The English Native Speaker Program (ENS) provides English-medium instruction across the secondary level and offers teachers the opportunity to work with students from lower through upper secondary education.

Applicants with strong secondary English teaching experience, EFL/ESL experience, IELTS preparation experience, and a genuine interest in adolescent education are particularly encouraged to apply.

General Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging English-medium instruction appropriate to students’ age, ability, and program objectives
  • Plan and implement effective, student-centred lessons
  • Develop students’ English-language proficiency, confidence, and communication skills
  • Apply appropriate teaching strategies, assessment methods, and educational technology
  • Maintain a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment
  • Promote student development, well-being, responsibility, and positive learning behaviours
  • Monitor and assess student progress using appropriate formative and summative assessment methods
  • Establish positive relationships with students while maintaining clear expectations and consistent classroom routines
  • Address behavioural issues calmly, fairly, and consistently
  • Collaborate effectively with Thai and international colleagues, parents, and the wider school community
  • Maintain professional ethics in accordance with Teachers’ Council of Thailand (Khurusapha) standards
  • Participate in school activities, meetings, professional development, and other duties appropriate to the position

Working with Adolescent Learners

Assumption College is an all-boys secondary school serving students from Grades 7–12 (M1–M6). Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, English Education, English Language Teaching, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Education, or a closely related field
  • Eligibility for Khurusapha professional licensing or a temporary teaching permit
  • Strong English-language communication skills appropriate for English-medium instruction
  • Ability and willingness to work effectively within a Thai school environment

Desired Qualifications and Experience

We are particularly interested in applicants who demonstrate:

  • At least one (1) year of recent teaching experience
  • Secondary-level teaching experience
  • Experience teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) or English as a Second Language (ESL)
  • Strong classroom management and student engagement skills
  • Understanding of Thai school culture and cultural expectations for foreign teachers
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • At least one verifiable professional reference, preferably from a direct supervisor
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, file-sharing platforms, interactive whiteboards, Google for Education applications such as Google Classroom, and Apple devices and educational technologies including iPad and MacBook
  • Experience integrating technology effectively into teaching and learning is highly desirable, as the school is actively developing toward Apple Distinguished School recognition
  • Willingness to participate in professional development and contribute to the wider school community

English Language Background

  • Preference may be given to Native English Speakers (NES), particularly those holding citizenship from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, or the United States
  • However, all suitably qualified applicants with strong English-language proficiency and relevant teaching experience are encouraged to apply
  • Non-NES applicants should include evidence of English proficiency with their application, such as TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS, or an equivalent standardized test

Program-Specific Preferences

ENS Teacher

  • Experience teaching English at the secondary level, particularly Grades 7–12 / M1–M6
  • EFL/ESL teaching experience
  • TEFL/TESOL certification
  • Ability to contribute to English camps, academic competitions, speech contests, and other student activities

IEGP Teacher

  • Experience teaching lower-secondary students (Grades 7–9 / M1–M3)
  • Experience implementing Project-Based Learning (PBL)
  • Familiarity with CEFR-aligned instruction and assessment
  • Experience teaching the Cambridge English curriculum
  • Experience preparing students for Cambridge English examinations, including KET, PET, or FCE
  • Experience developing students’ four English-language skills
  • Experience contributing to English camps, academic competitions, speech contests, or co-curricular activities
  • Cambridge English or other relevant professional qualifications are an advantage

School Activities and Professional Responsibilities

  • Teachers are expected to contribute to the wider life of the school and maintain a cooperative and professional approach to school responsibilities
  • Certain activities, including Open House, examinations, student activities, ceremonies, competitions, and other special events, may occasionally take place outside regular weekday teaching hours, including weekends. Teachers should be willing to participate in such activities when required

Interview and Demonstration Lesson
