About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join our teaching team. The successful candidate will teach secondary-level students (Grades 7–9) using the U.S. curriculum. This role offers an opportunity to inspire curiosity, foster critical thinking, and deepen students' understanding of scientific concepts.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging science lessons across life, physical, and earth sciences aligned with the U.S. curriculum.
• Promote scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to meet diverse learning needs and styles.
• Design and facilitate hands-on laboratory experiments to strengthen practical understanding.
• Guide students in designing and completing science projects and project-based learning activities.
• Assess students’ progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative classroom environment that encourages engagement and academic excellence.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align instructional strategies, share best practices, and contribute to curriculum development.
• Work closely with the Head of Department to support outstanding students in extracurricular programs, including preparation for national and global science competitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Science, Education, or a related field. Degrees in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or General Science are preferred.
• Teaching license from Kurusapa (temporary or permanent) preferred.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of teaching experience in middle or secondary school science is preferred.
• Native English speaker.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong knowledge of the U.S. middle school science curriculum and experience teaching life, physical, and earth sciences.
• Proven ability to design and deliver engaging, hands-on, inquiry-based lessons.
• Familiarity with educational technology and digital tools for teaching and assessment.
