About this position
Atlantic Five-Star English is seeking one experienced and inspiring Programme Manager (PM-5SiS) to lead and develop our Five-Star In-School (5SiS) programmes across public primary, secondary, and high schools in Hanoi.
This is a senior academic leadership role for an experienced ESL professional who is passionate about teacher development, curriculum quality, and making a meaningful impact within Vietnam's public education system.
About the Role
- As Programme Manager for 5SiS, you will be a key member of the 5SiS Management Team, working closely with the Director of Studies (DOS-5SiS), Operations Manager (OM-5SiS), and Operations Director (OD-5SiS).
- Your core mission is to create the conditions that allow excellent teachers to deliver excellent teaching, ensuring five-star quality across curriculum delivery, teaching standards, assessment, management, and service.
- You will take academic leadership of assigned schools, oversee programme delivery and development, and lead a team of teachers and lead teachers to ensure strong student outcomes and consistently high academic standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Academic Leadership and Teacher Management
- Recruit, induct, mentor, and manage teachers and lead teachers in assigned schools
- Conduct regular classroom observations, both formal and informal, and performance reviews
- Identify teaching gaps and underperformance; recommend and implement improvement actions
- Lead professional development workshops, meetings, and training sessions
- Apply disciplinary measures when required, in coordination with HR
2. Curriculum and Programme Quality
- Ensure effective implementation of curriculum and assessment frameworks
- Work with the DOS-5SiS to develop, adapt, and refine curriculum materials
- Support teachers in understanding and delivering the curriculum effectively
- Prepare teachers and materials for DOET visits, pop-ins, and formal observations
- Organise and maintain academic and digital resources
3. Assessment and Student Outcomes
- Design, monitor, and evaluate assessments
- Track and analyse student data and academic progress
- Ensure assessment practices are fair, valid, and effectively implemented
- Oversee academic reporting and feedback systems
- Respond to academic-related parent and customer feedback professionally
4. Stakeholder and Operations Collaboration
- Liaise closely with operations teams to ensure smooth programme delivery
- Maintain clear communication between academic, operations, and leadership teams
- Attend meetings with schools, parents, and key stakeholders
- Act as an academic representative at school events, parent meetings, and workshops
5. Business and Programme Development
- Support school and student recruitment through academic presentations and workshops
- Contribute academic input to sales plans and new product development
- Participate in outreach and promotional events
- Bring new ideas and initiatives to continuously improve Atlantic's Five-Star programmes
- In emergency situations, the PM-5SiS may be required to provide teaching cover as a last resort.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- CELTA / Trinity CertTESOL or equivalent teaching certification with observed teaching practice
- Bachelor's degree or higher
- Minimum 3 years ESL teacher management experience or similar leadership roles
- Experience of curriculum leadership and development
- Experience administering and preparing students for any of the following: Cambridge YLE and Main Suite exams, and IELTS exams
- Passionate about teaching and mentoring, with a strong commitment to high-quality education
- Highly motivated and collaborative
- Able to keep work organised and communicate effectively with others, both foreign and Vietnamese
- Proficient with common computer software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
- Native-level English proficiency equivalent to C2 from a recognised exam (IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge Advanced/Proficiency, or APTIS)
- A clean criminal record
- Contract: 12-month definite-term contract, renewable
- Start date: July 2026
- Working hours: 44 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
- Occasional evenings and weekends for meetings or workshops (time off in lieu provided)
- Location: Head Office, 33 Lạc Trung, Hai Bà Trưng District, Hanoi
- Regular travel to partner schools in Hanoi
Desirable
- 4+ years of ESL teaching experience and at least 4+ years of academic leadership experience
- Experience teaching in public schools and large class sizes, or knowledge of working with students for whom English is not their first language
- Experience working with foreign teachers in a multicultural environment
- The ability to delegate tasks and assignments to team members and track progress
- Sensitivity to and understanding of cultural aspects that play a part in Vietnamese education and the challenges faced by foreign teachers working in this environment
- The ability to manage teachers, both foreign and Vietnamese, and systems to ensure the best conditions for teaching and learning and to identify areas for improvement
- The ability to work well with others, despite cultural differences
- Experience in dealing with public schools and the challenges they present
- Delta / DipTESOL / relevant MA with practical teaching component
- Evidence of relevant and robust continuing professional development
