About this position

Carroll Preparatory Primary & Preschool in Bangkok is seeking a dedicated and capable English Teacher to join our team. Teaching at Carroll Prep is active, collaborative, and child-centred. Our teachers do not simply deliver lessons from the front of the classroom. They work closely with children, facilitate learning through play and projects, manage a dynamic classroom, and adapt their teaching to learners with different strengths, needs, and developmental levels.

This role can be challenging and requires patience, flexibility, strong classroom management, and a genuine commitment to inclusive education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and facilitate engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons using active-learning methods, including games, hands-on experiences, inquiry, and group projects.
  • Actively engage with students throughout the lesson rather than relying primarily on whole-class instruction.
  • Establish clear routines, expectations, and boundaries to create a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Manage a dynamic classroom effectively, including transitions, group work, learning stations, and individual support.
  • Differentiate instruction for students with varying language levels, learning styles, abilities, and additional learning needs.
  • Observe and monitor student progress, identify areas of concern, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Support children’s confidence, independence, communication skills, and love of learning.
  • Work collaboratively with co-teachers, teaching assistants, learning support staff, and school leaders.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with parents regarding student progress, classroom learning, and concerns.
  • Contribute to school projects, events, meetings, training, and the wider Carroll Prep community.
  • Remain open to feedback, professional reflection, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field.
  • TEFL/TESOL certification is preferred.
  • At least two years of experience teaching young learners at kindergarten and/or primary level.
  • Strong classroom-management skills and the ability to remain calm, consistent, and responsive.
  • Experience creating lesson plans based on active and child-centred learning.
  • Genuine interest in child development and inclusive education.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with project-based learning, inquiry-based learning, or the Project Approach.
  • Openness to receiving feedback and working collaboratively rather than teaching in isolation.
