Primary English Curriculum Coordinator

The Anglo Singapore International School Bangkok is seeking a Primary English Curriculum Coordinator for its Korat, Nakhon Ratchasima campus.

Coordinate the planning and development of Primary English within the remit agreed by Primary leadership. Support teachers with curriculum progression, collaborative planning, assessment moderation, and practical classroom approaches. Staff line management and formal appraisal remain with designated school leaders.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate curriculum mapping and review, ensuring clear progression in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
• Work with teachers to maintain coherent schemes of work and align resources with curriculum objectives.
• Support consistent approaches to phonics, reading, vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and writing.
• Facilitate collaborative planning and model effective teaching approaches within agreed teacher-development priorities.
• Coordinate agreed English assessment and moderation activities with Primary leadership, helping teachers apply consistent standards and use findings to inform teaching.
• Help teachers use assessment evidence to identify gaps, plan support, and review progress.
• Review curriculum coverage and progression through planning and samples of student work, discuss findings with teachers, and recommend improvements to Primary leadership.
• Support continuity between year groups and transition into Secondary English.
• Maintain agreed curriculum documentation and communicate updates clearly.
• Teach Primary English as allocated and contribute to professional development within the agreed remit.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Education, English, Primary Education, or a related field.
• Recognised teaching qualification, such as PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent.
• At least three years of successful experience teaching Primary English.
• Strong knowledge of Cambridge Primary English and literacy progression across the Primary years.
• Secure expertise in phonics, reading, and writing, including support for students learning English as an additional language.
• Experience contributing to curriculum planning, assessment moderation, and resource development.
• Ability to support colleagues through practical guidance, collaborative planning, and modelling effective teaching.
• Ability to interpret student work and assessment evidence and recommend useful teaching responses.
• Strong organisational skills and proficiency in English for teaching, curriculum documentation, and professional communication.
• Previous curriculum coordination or teacher-development experience is desirable.
