Pre-Nursery Homeroom Teacher

Meritton British International School in Chiang Mai is seeking an experienced and qualified Pre-Nursery Homeroom Teacher to join our Early Years team starting in August 2026. The role involves creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment that supports each child's social, emotional, physical, and early cognitive development through Values-based Education (VbE) and Enquiry-based Learning. The Early Years section follows the UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, while the Primary and Secondary Schools adhere to the Cambridge International Curriculum. A strong understanding of EYFS principles, child development, and play-based pedagogy is essential for this position.

Qualifications

• An undergraduate degree in Education or a bachelor's degree plus an internationally recognized postgraduate teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE with QTS)
• At least 3 years of experience teaching in Early Years, ideally including Pre-Nursery or Nursery
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child-centered, play-based learning
• Experience in supporting early language development; familiarity with early phonics programmes (e.g., Jolly Phonics) is advantageous
• Native English speaker or fluent English speaker with excellent communication skills
• A clear commitment to Values-based Education and Enquiry-based Learning
