About this role
Meritton British International School is seeking an experienced and qualified Pre-Nursery Homeroom Teacher to join our Early Years team in August 2026. The successful candidate will create a warm, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that supports each child’s social, emotional, physical, and early cognitive development through Values-based Education (VbE) and Enquiry-based Learning.
In the Early Years section we follow the UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. Our Primary and Secondary Schools follow the Cambridge International Curriculum. A strong understanding of EYFS principles, child development, and play-based pedagogy is essential.
Qualifications & Experience
- An undergraduate degree in Education, or a bachelor’s degree plus an internationally recognised postgraduate teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE with QTS)
- At least 3 years’ experience teaching in Early Years, ideally including Pre-Nursery or Nursery
- Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child-centred, play-based learning
- Experience supporting early language development; familiarity with early phonics programmes (e.g. Jolly Phonics) is an advantage
- Native English speaker or fluent English speaker with excellent communication skills
- A clear commitment to Values-based Education and Enquiry-based Learning
