About this position
Earl Montessori is looking for a Pre-Kindergarten Montessori Guide (Teacher) to support individualized, self-directed learning in a nurturing environment.
Responsibilities- Develop individualized learning plans based on each child’s interests and abilities.
- Prepare and maintain a Montessori environment that fosters independent, self-directed learning.
- Observe, record, and assess children’s growth, behavior, and progress.
- Cultivate a nurturing, stimulating, inclusive, non-competitive classroom culture.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s progress and development.
- Guide and inspire children in self-motivated learning and encourage natural curiosity.
- Provide hands-on materials and resources to support exploration, learning activities, and imaginative play.
- Teach and demonstrate practical life skills such as dressing, feeding, and grooming.
- Treat all children with respect, acknowledge individuality, and avoid comparisons.
- Support and encourage positive social interactions among children.
- Prepare and present materials introducing math, language, science, and social studies concepts.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and inviting environment, addressing minor cleaning tasks when necessary.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Keep up to date with Montessori methods, child development research, and school policies to ensure best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an educational or childcare setting; Montessori experience is a plus.
- TESOL, TEFL, or TEYL certificate preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development and Montessori learning principles.
- Effective behavior management, observation, communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Personal attributes: patient, nurturing, responsible, and culturally sensitive.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Physical ability to assist young children and set up the classroom.
Employees work 8 hours per day with a 1-hour break. The workweek is 5 days with 2 days off, which typically fall on weekdays. The working style aligns with that of a company employee.
Class Structure & Size- Class durations vary: either 1.5 hours or 3 hours, depending on the daily schedule.
- Small class sizes: no more than 4 children per classroom. If a class has more than 4 children, an additional teacher will be assigned.
- Example: you might simultaneously teach a 3-hour class with one child and a 1.5-hour class with two children, with differing end times.
Each branch typically operates with a team of 1–2 teachers, 1 Thai assistant teacher, and 1 branch salesperson.
