About this position

Position Overview

At edm Education Center (https://www.edmuhak.com/), we are seeking a Native English Instructor for our EAP (English for Academic Purposes) Program. This program is designed to help students transition smoothly to studying abroad. It goes beyond basic English instruction and focuses on adapting to overseas academic environments, building practical communication skills, and developing cultural understanding and global perspectives.

Program Structure

  • Duration: Aug. 2026 to Dec. 2026
  • Schedule: 3 times per week (Mon/Wed/Fri, 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM)
  • Students: Pre-departure study abroad students
  • Class Size: Approximately 30 students
  • Location: edm Education Center, Gangnam HQ (Seoul)
  • Format: Offline, in-person group classes (interactive)

Course Objectives

The program aims to help students adjust to overseas education systems and learning styles, build cultural awareness of their destination country, encourage networking and collaboration among students, and improve integrated English skills (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking).

Course Content Overview

Topics include real-life and global themes such as Travel & Study Destinations, Work & Career Exploration, Buying, Selling & Persuasion, Relationships & Communication, Cities & Living Environments, Well-being & Lifestyle, Society, Trends & Culture, and Food & Cultural Differences. Each session follows a structure of Vocabulary + Discussion + Task-Based Project.

Required Qualifications

  • Native English speaker
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • TESOL / TEFL / CELTA (or equivalent) preferred
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of ESL/EFL teaching experience preferred
  • Strong classroom management and facilitation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching international or study abroad students
  • Experience with Task-Based Learning (TBLT)
  • IELTS or Academic English teaching experience
  • Experience teaching students from diverse cultural backgrounds

Key Competencies

  • Strong communication skills to engage students
  • Ability to act as a facilitator, not just a lecturer
  • Structured lesson planning and time management skills
  • Coaching ability to build student confidence
