Valor International Scholars is seeking a dedicated Middle and High School Spanish Teacher for its institution in Anseong, South Korea.
Job Description
The selected candidate will primarily teach Spanish courses from Spanish I to Spanish III, with the possibility of also teaching AP Spanish Language and Culture. Training for AP courses is available for eligible candidates who are new to teaching AP. Flexibility in adapting course materials each year is essential to meet the needs of the diverse Spanish language learners at VIS.
The school emphasizes a Christ-centered educational environment where students can grow in character, faith, and academic skills. The teacher must design and deliver engaging lessons that develop students' speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in Spanish, while also fostering an understanding of Hispanic cultures and global perspectives.
Beyond classroom duties, faculty members are encouraged to actively participate in the school community. This may include mentoring students, helping with extracurricular activities, or contributing expertise to enrich the overall educational experience.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Spanish Education, Foreign Language Education, or a related field from an accredited institution
- A teaching certification from an English-speaking country or a minimum of three years of Spanish language teaching experience
- Spanish proficiency at a native or near-native level is highly preferred
- Commitment to integrating a Biblical perspective into teaching methods and interactions with students
- Professional integrity, a strong work ethic, and the ability to serve as a positive influence on students
- A vibrant Christian faith demonstrated through personal growth and church involvement
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate within the school community
