Middle and High School English Teacher

Las Nubes School, located in Jacó, Puntarenas, Costa Rica, is seeking a passionate and committed English Teacher to join our international team for the 2026 school year.

Position Overview

Full-time English Teacher responsible for teaching 6th through 11th grade.

Contract: 1-year renewable contract
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Start Date: As soon as possible

Requirements

• Native English speaker
• Bachelor’s degree in Education
• Minimum 2 years of teaching experience
• Strong classroom management skills
• Experience with innovative, student-centered teaching methodologies
• Commitment to the well-rounded development of students
• Ability to foster an inclusive and collaborative learning environment
• Strong professional ethics and teamwork skills
• Proactive attitude and willingness to participate in extracurricular activities
• Personal qualities: passionate, organized, responsible, energetic, and inspiring

Responsibilities

• Teach English classes aligned with the institution’s curriculum
• Promote critical thinking, creativity, and strong communication skills
• Design engaging pedagogical strategies that prepare students for real-world challenges
• Implement formative and summative assessments to guide student progress
• Maintain a motivating and structured classroom environment
• Submit required documentation (lesson plans, assessments, reports, etc.) on time
• Participate actively in planning meetings and professional development
• Collaborate on interdisciplinary projects
• Organize student activities and events that reinforce holistic development
• Foster respect, inclusion, and responsibility inside and outside the classroom

Compensation

• Monthly gross salary: ₡1,000,000 CRC (approx. $2,000 USD)
• Housing subsidy: ₡200,000 CRC (approx. $350 USD)
