SBS is seeking a dynamic, experienced and professional Head of PE and Sports Department / teacher and sports coach to join our international teaching team. Successful applicants will be suitably qualified and experienced, and fully committed to supporting student development through curricular and extracurricular activities. The new Head of PE can start work from May 4th, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Conduct day-to-day supervision and management of the department's operations.
• Assist the School Principal in curriculum management, collaborative planning and academic-related issues, and discipline for both staff and students through the IB PYP and Cambridge curricula.
• Ensure timetables are monitored efficiently and on schedule.
• Plan and manage sports teams, competitions and tournaments outside school hours.
• Manage subject coverage/assignment, grading, examination papers, student records and report administration.
• Supervise, evaluate and support staff in lesson planning, classroom management, implementation of unified curriculum, instruction and related activities.
• Ensure full support for school activities is practiced.
• Cooperate with other departments and report to relevant authorities on academic functions, responsibilities, student academic/social affairs and basic counselling within the department's scope.
• Facilitate the development, communication, implementation and evaluation of a shared vision of learning that reflects excellence.
• Develop and enhance department outcomes and model high expectations of students and staff.
• Perform miscellaneous professional duties as assigned by the Principal.
• Teach Physical Education according to the IB PYP curriculum and Thai MOE requirements for ages 3 to 17 years.

Qualifications

• Degree in Sport Science or a relevant field.
• Professional teaching qualification/license/certification as applicable.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years' professional experience teaching in a structured school setting.
• Minimum 2 years' experience teaching/coaching sport and physical education is essential.
• Experience teaching a wide variety of ages and sports is essential.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Fluent English speaker (minimum C1 fluency).
• Good administrative skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire pupils of all abilities and ages.
• Good athletic ability and knowledge of the human body.
• Competency in class management, time management, teamwork and differentiation.
• Wide range of sport and health knowledge applicable to coaching/teaching.
• Desirable skills: Basketball, Volleyball, Swimming, Badminton.
