Full-Time Native English Teacher in Taiwan
About this position
We are looking for a full-time, native-speaking English teacher. We would love to work with you to provide the best English learning experience for our kids and for you to explore beautiful Taiwan while you are not working.

Students
Students range in age from kindergarten to adults, mostly from 1st grade to senior high school.
Work Hours
- Saturdays and Sundays: No work. Enjoy your weekend and explore Taiwan! Our privately owned school does not have classes on the weekends.
- Mondays to Wednesdays, Fridays: The school opens at 12:30 PM and the last classes end around 9:00 PM, give or take.
- Thursdays: The school opens at 3:00 PM and the last classes end around 9:00 PM, give or take.
Work Expectations
Your teaching hours are approximately 22 hours per week. This does not mean you will be at school for only 22 hours. Teaching hours refer only to the time spent instructing students. Your scheduled working hours include both teaching and lesson-planning duties.
There are class-specific textbooks for you to base lesson plans on. Brainstorming fun, engaging, and memorable activities is your responsibility. All we ask is that you are fully prepared for each class before you enter it.
Salary
NT$62,000 per month will be paid for teaching the minimum of 22 teaching hours per week and 12 office hours (lesson planning). There will be an extra NT$4,000 for full attendance. In addition to the base salary and full attendance bonus, there will be an extra NT$1,000 to NT$10,000 monthly performance bonus available to teachers with great teaching abilities and qualities. The starting salary will increase with time worked at the school. Overtime is paid hourly (NT$700-900), based on teaching experience. The base salary is negotiable for those who graduate from prestigious universities or have excellent teaching experience. We pay a higher base salary and give much more in bonuses for highly qualified teachers.
The job also offers 7 days of paid vacation after completing one year of teaching, and the paid vacation days increase over time.
Contract Duration
A one-year work contract will be signed. We are open to signing excellent teachers for a shorter contract due to exceptional circumstances.
Note
The government requires non-residents who work in the country for less than 183 days to pay 18% of their income for the first 6 months. There will be a tax refund the following year in May or June. This applies to any jobs for non-residents.
