Job Brief
We are looking for an experienced ESL teacher to join our team. You will organize courses for non-native speakers with diverse activities and methods that cover all aspects of the English language, including speaking, writing, and comprehension.
Scope of Work
ESL teachers prepare course materials and design lessons that cover all aspects of the English language, whether written or spoken. They keep track of student progress and customize individualized plans for students with special requirements. They are also responsible for creating a positive classroom environment and encouraging students to reach their learning goals.
Duties Include
- Organizing coursework and learning materials
- Assessing student progress and creating reports
- Following appropriate policies for teaching English as a second language
- 20+ classroom lessons per week
- Google Classroom lesson plans
- Planning multiple events
- Attending a Lead Teacher departmental meeting
- Writing rubrics for the term
- Completing gradebook work
- Creating, printing, and marking homework
- Duty roles every day
- Attending staff meetings
- Running multiple ECAs
- Planning and running school trips
- Planning and running Christmas shows
- Marking student work
- Covering absent colleagues
- Creating student targets
- Attending personal target-setting meetings

Requirements
- A degree in a language-focused field and an ESL or TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certification
- Basic software skills, preferably Google Suites, to complete administrative tasks such as updating student records
- A patient and resilient personality, flexibility, and strong communication skills
- Good command of spoken and written Russian language is a plus
- Flexibility to work on weekends and evenings to accommodate learners' needs; timetables may be reviewed on an ongoing basis
As a teacher at PBISS, you will create individualized educational plans based on each student's needs and evaluate their progress through homework and assessments. ESL teachers are also expected to build positive relationships with parents and teachers, helping them evaluate student progress.
