Job Purpose
Ensure students' success and help them reach their full potential by implementing the SABIS® curriculum and philosophy and through the consistent use of the SABIS® teaching methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach classes using provided lesson plans; may be required to develop plans based on provided pacing charts as needed to teach using the SABIS® point system.
- Mark exams for taught subjects in accordance with the schedule and materials provided by the department.
- Discuss disciplinary and student performance issues with the Academic Quality Controller (AQC) and Head of Department (HOD) as needed.
- Implement the SABIS® Point System to ensure a classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Proctor exams as needed, ensuring an adequate and properly managed test environment.
- Provide support for academically low-performing students through guidance and motivation to help them improve.
- Develop and/or follow up on external exam preparation by reviewing previous exams as planned in the structured revision schedule (when applicable to specific grade levels).
- Assist with duties that may include testing students, substituting for absent teachers, organizing students for lunches and buses, controlling traffic (vehicles and people), and other administrative duties as assigned by school management.
- Prepare and participate in activities related to student life events such as art, open houses, and physical education, in coordination with the Student Life Coordinator (SLC).
- Attend training sessions as requested by school management to enhance understanding of the SABIS® system and improve student performance.
- Perform other related tasks or projects as delegated by school management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field.
- English proficiency.
- At least 1 year of teaching experience.
- Professional behavior and ethical conduct.
- Ability to deliver results and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Accountability and ownership.
- Excellent communication skills.
