English Teacher in Changhua Taiwan

Rui De (Leader) Language Schools in Changhua, Taiwan is seeking one energetic and dedicated English instructor to join our team. Start date: August 2026.

Founded in 1998, we are dedicated to teaching English (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) to students up to 18 years old. We pride ourselves on our collaborative teaching environment and our track record of success in preparing students for Taiwan's General English Proficiency Test (GEPT).

Responsibilities

• Lead dynamic and engaging classes for a variety of age groups and skill levels.
• Collaborate with Taiwanese co-teachers to plan and deliver effective lessons.
• Provide constructive feedback on student report cards and essays. No other homework grading is required.
• Inspire young learners to build confidence in their English fluency.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting rate of NT$715 per teaching hour for group classes and NT$650 for tutorials, with a guaranteed minimum of 18 teaching hours per week.
• Flexible afternoon and evening schedule, so your mornings are free to study Mandarin, explore, or relax.
• Housing in the Teachers' Apartment Building in a private, furnished studio apartment at reduced rent. The remainder of the month you arrive is free, and internet and cable are covered except for electricity and a NT$200 surcharge for water.
• Free airport pick-up upon arrival.
• End-of-year bonus of roughly $1000 USD based on criteria to help cover your initial flight and visa costs.
• Assistance with start-up costs through advances on pay.
• Sponsorship and support with the work permit and visa process leading to an Alien Residence Card (ARC).
• Subsidized national health insurance, with your portion less than US$30 per month.
• Paid training at NT$550 per hour if facing classes.
• Guidance in filing and reclaiming taxes.

Requirements

• Native speaker with at least a bachelor's degree in any field.
• Experience working with children and young adults. Teaching, coaching, or mentoring is a plus.
• Energetic, flexible, and sociable, with a passion for teaching.
• Willing to commit to at least a one-year contract.
• Genuinely interested in Taiwanese culture and Mandarin and/or Taiwanese language.
