English Teacher for Young Learners in Taiwan

HESS Education is actively recruiting for teaching positions beginning in August, September, or November of this year, from Taipei to Kaohsiung and everywhere in between.

As part of a team of teachers from Taiwan and around the world, you will plan and teach engaging and effective English lessons for young Taiwanese students. You will also grade homework and assessments, communicate student progress to parents, and help organize special events that help students experience cultures beyond Taiwan. Our curriculum teaches every part of the English language – reading, writing, speaking, and listening – and helps students use English in natural ways.

Our teachers receive comprehensive training on TEFL best practices, educational psychology, and the HESS curriculum before they begin teaching. Training and support continue throughout the first year, and our structured curriculum supports both our students and teachers.

Requirements

Prior teaching experience is not necessary, but any experience providing instruction or caring for children can be helpful. To meet Taiwanese government requirements, candidates must hold a passport from a country where English is an official language, a bachelor’s degree or higher (or an associate’s degree and TEFL certificate) from an accredited college or university, and pass a criminal background check. Our most successful candidates are team players who enjoy working with kids and are able to balance establishing routine in the classroom with enjoying the adventure of living abroad.
