English Instructor, Beijing

Beijing International Studies University is seeking English teachers for three positions at its campus in Beijing.

Benefits

• 12 months' salary: 9,000 - 13,000 RMB per month, depending on degree qualifications (Bachelor's 9,000; Master's 11,000; Doctor's 13,000).
• About 7 weeks' paid summer vacation (July and August) and about 6 weeks' paid winter vacation (January and February). Salary is paid for both vacations.
• One reimbursed round-trip air ticket to and from your home country each academic year.
• Basic health insurance is provided. Details are subject to the contract.
• Accommodation: an additional allowance of 6,000 RMB per month towards privately-sourced accommodation.

Requirements

• You must be a native speaker of English with clear pronunciation.
• You must have at least a bachelor's degree from a university in an English-speaking country.
• At least two years' full-time ESL teaching experience, or a CELTA or similar recognized qualification for teaching English as a foreign language with a minimum of 120 hours' teaching practice.
• You must be between 20 and 60 years old and in good health.
• Please note these conditions will be strictly applied by the Chinese Government when we apply for the working Z-visa.

Contract Period

From 28 August 2026 to 31 July 2027. If both parties agree, the contract can be renewed, usually up to a limit of 3 years.

Teaching Hours & Responsibilities

• 12 stated contract teaching hours per week (or six 90-minute periods), over two 19-week semesters.
• Teachers will give classes in some combination of: listening and speaking, reading, writing, or oral English for undergraduate or postgraduate students.
• We are looking for teachers who are passionate, able to work in small groups, and who can liaise with Chinese and foreign colleagues to produce effective, creative, modern, and engaging English lessons.
