Elementary Music Teacher

Chiang Rai International School (CRIS) is seeking a passionate and qualified Elementary Music Teacher to join our learning community. The successful candidate will inspire a love of music while supporting students’ academic, social, and creative development in an international school setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BA or equivalent) in Music, Music Education, or a related teaching field
• Teaching certification or license (preferred)
• Experience teaching music at the elementary level
• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate instructional strategies
• Ability to teach basic music theory, vocal music, rhythm, movement, and introductory instrumental skills
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Experience in an international school setting is an advantage

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate elementary music lessons aligned with school curriculum standards
• Teach foundational music skills including rhythm, pitch, singing, movement, and basic music theory
• Prepare students for school performances, assemblies, and special events
• Assess and document student progress and provide meaningful feedback
• Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and school leadership to support interdisciplinary learning
• Maintain lesson plans, assessments, and required documentation
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress when required
• Participate in school events, professional development, and staff meetings
