About this position

Beaconhouse Yamsaard International School in Bangkok is seeking an experienced Head of Early Years Department to lead its EYFS provision. The successful candidate will create a nurturing learning environment where children can explore and thrive. This role requires strong knowledge of the UK EYFS Framework, play-based learning, curriculum development, staff coaching, and departmental management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Department Leadership: Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Early Years Department; set high expectations for teaching, learning, behavior, safeguarding, and children's well-being; lead and evaluate EYFS teachers and co-teachers; coordinate staffing and resources; manage departmental operations; conduct classroom observations and provide feedback; collaborate with the Principal and leadership team on school improvement; and engage with parents professionally.
  • Teaching and Learning: Ensure high-quality EYFS teaching through play-based approaches; model excellent classroom practice and oversee stimulating environments; lead the use of Wonder Play stations; integrate early literacy and maths; monitor children's progress; and align with the UK EYFS Framework.
  • Staff Development: Coach and mentor EYFS staff, plan workshops, support new staff, lead initiatives such as Walkthrus and peer observations, and foster a positive departmental culture.
  • Curriculum and Assessment: Lead the development and evaluation of the EYFS curriculum; develop learning stations; analyse assessment data; and ensure accurate and timely reporting to parents.
  • Safeguarding and Pastoral Care: Promote children's happiness, safety, and well-being; ensure consistent policy adherence; and support teachers in behavior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of EYFS or Early Childhood teaching experience, preferably in an international school.
  • Strong curriculum planning and leadership experience.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and children's well-being.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous role as an EYFS Coordinator or Head of Department.
  • Experience with Monster Phonics, White Rose Maths, and curriculum design.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary between 65,000 THB and 75,000 THB per month.
