The Program and Your Role

Our core programs provide comprehensive language instruction to approximately 750 first- and second-year students. The first-year curriculum is an intensive English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program, while the second year focuses on English for Occupational Purposes (EOP), covering employability, leadership, intercultural communication, entrepreneurship, and corporate field research.

Beyond core teaching, you will have the opportunity to coach and mentor approximately 270 students preparing for prestigious competitions and contribute to specialized courses supporting China's "Double First Class" academic initiative. We also have additional opportunities for candidates with advanced skills in Engineering/Information and Communication Technology and/or Marketing Business to deliver coursework in coordination with our transnational education partner onsite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and English for Occupational Purposes (EOP) courses.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, student assessment, and program enhancement.
  • Provide dedicated written and verbal feedback to support student growth.
  • Mentor students for public speaking, debate, and skills competitions.
  • Actively participate in departmental and extracurricular activities to support student skill development and community.

Qualifications and Requirements

Eligibility: Due to Chinese visa regulations, we can only secure work permits for nationals of Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States, and South Africa. Please apply only if you are a citizen of one of these countries.

Mandatory requirements:

  • A Master's degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, English, Education, Business, Communications, or a closely related field.
  • A TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification of at least 120 hours.
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience at the university or adult level.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, cross-cultural communication, and student engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a collaborative, interdisciplinary teaching team.
  • Strong academic writing and student feedback skills.
  • Proficiency in multitasking across teaching, grading, and special projects with high attention to detail.

Additional specialized skills for candidates teaching our TNE components:

  • Previous certifications or credentials in Engineering/ICT and/or Marketing/Business.
  • Previous teaching or work experience in the application of ICT and/or Marketing/Business.
