Cambridge IGCSE Sociology and Business Teacher

We are seeking an enthusiastic, professional, and experienced IGCSE Cambridge Sociology and Business Teacher to join our international school community in beautiful Koh Samui, Thailand.

Start date: As soon as possible.

The successful candidate will have strong subject knowledge in both Sociology and Business, with the ability to deliver engaging, well-structured lessons aligned with the Cambridge International (CIE) curriculum and IGCSE assessment requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Cambridge IGCSE Sociology and Business to secondary students.
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the relevant Cambridge CIE syllabuses and assessment objectives.
• Prepare students effectively for Cambridge IGCSE examinations.
• Use past papers, mark schemes, examiner reports, and assessment data to support student progress.
• Provide regular assessment, feedback, and targeted academic intervention.
• Maintain high expectations for student achievement, behaviour, and participation.
• Contribute positively to the development of the Secondary School and wider school community.
• Undertake Homeroom Teacher duties, including supporting students' academic progress, wellbeing, attendance, and pastoral development.
• Communicate professionally with parents, colleagues, and school leadership.
• Participate in school meetings, professional development, activities, and events.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Business, Education, or a closely related field.
• Recognised teaching qualification preferred.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Cambridge International / CIE curriculum and assessment.
• Previous experience teaching IGCSE Sociology and/or Business is highly desirable.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to plan effectively and differentiate lessons for students with different learning needs and levels of English.
• Professional, reliable, collaborative, and committed to high educational standards.
• Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school and fulfil Homeroom responsibilities.
